Library Use

The Library is open to the public.

Opening hours

Mondays to Fridays 8.30 a.m.- 5.30 p.m.

Loans

In order to borrow material from the library you require a library card. Please show your identity card or passport to the staff at the desk and hand in the completed application form. We make a charge of EUR 5.00 to issue the library card (in accordance with the Georg Eckert Institute regulations). Books can, as a rule, be borrowed for 4 weeks. You can renew materials once online by logging into our online catalogue, or by writing an e-mail to ausleihe@remove-this.leibniz-gei.de. Please read the user account information. Journals and books in the reference-only section may not be removed from the library. The library is a participant in the inter-library loan service.

Overdue Fees

In accordance with § 23 of the library's regulations and § 1 and § 2 of the fees regulations, € 2.00 per item will be charged for the first reminder for any items not returned within the loan period. The failure to return items following an initial reminder will incur a further charge of € 5.00 and € 10.00 respectively for the second and third reminders for each item.

Kopierer/Scanner/Internet

In der Bibliothek stehen Ihnen zwei Kopierer, ein Scanner und freier WLAN-Zugang zum Internet zur Verfügung.

Tours

We offer guided tours and work opportunities for groups and school classes upon request and prior notice.
